Dvorak Keyboard Layout

I learned the Programmers' Dvorak Keyboard Layout, but have decided not to use it because it does not have all the charecters that I need. To name one off the top of my head, it is missing the caret, ^, charecter. So I have gone back to the normal Dvorak Keyboard.

Fasting

I did a full fast on Sunday. I did not take it very well. Looking back when ever I did a full fast, I never took it well. My Grandma and mom was how bad it was, and figured that I am hypoglasemic. Apparently it runs in the family.

Relationships

"In family discussions, differences should not be ignored, but should be weighed and evaluated calmly. One's point or opinion usually is not as important as a healthy, continuing relationship. Courtesy and respect in listening and responding during discussions are basic in proper dialogue... How important it is to know how to disagree with another's point of view without being disagreeable."

Dvorak Keyboard Layout

Friday I was helping Tyler out at work, Interbank FX, and I installed the US Dvorak keyboard layout, because that is what I know how to type on. I told Tyler a little bit of the history of the Dvorak and Qwerty layouts. He started to like the idea. He mentioned if there was a programmer Dvorak he would do it. To my surprise over the weekend apparently Tyler did some googling. He found a site with a Programmers' Dvorak. He also found this site to compair different layouts: http://www.siteuri.ro/dvorak/.

I also talked Jared into trying Programmers' Dvorak. I don't know how serious he is. I think it would be cool to get the whole IT department to convert over.

Suzie is willing to learn Dvorak too. She is so cute.

Goals

It is better to set one simple goal and acheive it then to set many big goals and fail.

Mosiad 4:27 "And see that all these things are done in wisdom and aorder; for it is not requisite that a man should run bfaster than he has strength. And again, it is expedient that he should be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize; therefore, all things must be done in order."

My main goal for the year is to continue to set goals for myself thru out the year.

My first two goals are:
1) Daily, every day, scripture study.
2) Working out at 24HourFitness at least 2 times a week.

Pastor Joe Wright's Prayer

The following prayer was actually spoken before the Kansas State Legislators recently. It might be a good idea if the pastor were elected to the State legislature. When Pastor Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual politically correct generalities. But what they heard instead was a stirring prayer, passionately calling our country to repentance & righteousness. The response was immediate & a number of legislators walked out during the prayer.

In six short weeks, the Central Christian Church had logged more the 5,000 calls, with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. Commentator Paul Harvey aired the prayer on the radio & received a larger response to this program than any other program he has ever aired. The Central Christian Church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa, & Korea.

Pastor Joe Wright’s prayer is reprinted as an encouragement & challenge for each of us.

“Heavenly Father,

We come before you today to ask Your forgiveness & seek Your direction & guidance. We know Your Words says, ‘Woe on those who call evil good,’ but that’s exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium & inverted our values. We confess that:

We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word & called it pluralism.
We have worshipped other gods & called it multiculturalism.
We have endorsed perversion & called it an alternative lifestyle.
We have exploited the poor & called it the lottery.
We have neglected the needy & called it self-preservation.
We have rewarded laziness & called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn children & called it choice.
We have shot abortionists & called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children & called it building self-esteem.
We have abused power & called it political savvy.
We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions & called it ambition.
We have polluted our air with profanity & pornography & called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers & called it enlightenment.

Search us, O God, & know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin & set us free. Guide & bless these men & women who have been sent to lead this great state. Grant them the wisdom to rule, & may their decisions direct us to the center of Your will.

I ask it in the name of Your Son, the Living Savior. Jesus Christ, Amen.”
